9/11 - a very sensitive topic for New Yorkers and Americans. I had neighbors whose husbands were the firefighters and police officers on the scene to help that day. As my neighbors sat at home waiting to hear from their husbands to know they were safe, waiting for them to come home, there was fear of what was to come. I have colleagues that lost their husbands and fathers who are still asking "Why did this happen?" and will probably never get an answer. We all have stories and lose we will remember everyday since 9/11.
So much lose, so much fear, so much anger.
Above is a video that my sister's sister-in-law (not confusing at all) posted on her blog. While I was watching the video, my youngest son asked me why the buildings fell down. At six years old, he has no understanding or knowledge of 9/11.
I never knew about the boats and how they rescued so many (500,000) people from lower Manhattan that day. It is a reminder, that no matter how small the act is, we can all be heroes.
What I want to remember is how Americans became HEROS.
