Lots on One's Mind

Aaron Jon
August 24, 1994
Today is a very special day for me. My oldest son was born. Aaron is one of the three greatest wonders of my life. Yesterday, we dropped him off at college. Today is his 18th birthday and we will not be together to celebrate. Maybe I'm being to sentimental, but it saddens me that we are not together today.

When he was two and going to pre-school, he was having a hard time with separation (not usual for my very social son). I gave him a picture of Frank and my wedding and told him - "When every you are sad and missing mommy and daddy, take out this picture and remember we are always with you. We are always in your heart and you are always in our heart." Today I text Aaron reminding him of this story and how he will always be in my heart.

Yesterday we drove Aaron to college.

Beautiful View Approaching New Paltz

Our beautiful drive to New Paltz. Frank and I are very interested in alternative energies and hope that one day we can apply them to our home. I am very envious of the mountain views Aaron will be living in.

Freshman move-in day. We met his roommate and family, organized his room and had our last meal together as a family for awhile.

Aaron & Peef
Can not start college without Aaron's faithful friend 'Peef'. Aaron's Christmas Bear given to him by his Grandma Jean when he was 5 years old.

We will miss you Aaron. I will miss you. A new adventure awaits us all. I look forward to this adventure and watching you grow into an adult.
